LEED Certified Facility Signals Growth

Bringing Much Needed Logistics Services to Agricultural Region

Lineage Logistics is a warehousing and logistics company with over 100 facilities serving customers through public and dedicated warehouses throughout the US. Fisher’s relationship with Lineage dates back nearly 30 years when Fisher was a key partner in Terminal Freezers’ growth as a company. The relationship has continued through acquisition and as Lineage has grown to become the second-largest cold storage provider in the nation.

Lineage contracted with Fisher Construction Group to design and build the 216,777 sq. ft. cold storage and food processing facility in Santa Maria. Faced with an empty lot, and the berry harvest less than a year away, Fisher worked closely with city planners to develop solutions that kept the project moving forward.

Phased permitting and expert project management made it possible to build the large processing and cold storage facility so quickly. Through skilled communication, Fisher masterfully orchestrated the construction of the LEED certified facility, at times managing over 120 workers in 10 trades. Lineage’s tenant, Titan Frozen Fruits was able to start processing strawberries just seven months after groundbreaking.

The facility includes 151,000 sq. ft. of cold storage and dock space, 65,000 sq. ft. dedicated on-site food processing, and eight blast cells with the capacity to blast freeze 1 million pounds of product per day. With 30,000 additional pallet positions, the facility will play a major role in meeting the ever expanding food processing needs of the Santa Maria region.
