Job Summary

Fisher Construction Group is seeking a self-driven Electrical Controls Engineer to assist Project Engineers and Project Superintendents with a variety of electrical power system designs on construction projects.
Fisher is a leading general contracting firm headquartered in the Pacific Northwest and is one of the largest builders of industrial and commercial projects in the food processing and cold storage industries in the U.S.
Essential Functions

- Will be trained to oversee design and plan electrical power systems for industrial food and beverage processing facilities, commercial cold storage, and other commercial and institutional projects.
- Assists in design and specification of power and control systems for assigned projects including but not limited to:
- Medium voltage distribution
- Low voltage distribution
- Arc flash calculation
- Load calculation and balancing
- Photovoltaics
- PLC controls and automation
- Raceway design
- Lighting design and controls
- Write electrical scopes of work for projects, and convert to a request for proposals (RFP’s).
- Send out RFP’s to subcontractors, collect bids and prepare cost analysis reports to be sure the best subcontractor is hired.
- Hiring of subcontractors to install the electrical portion of the project.
- Oversite of field subcontractor electrical installation teams.
- Manage and document weekly coordination meetings to ensure project schedule tracks as planned.
- Managing of subcontractor change orders and confirming project stays on budget
- Oversite of electrical commissioning of the project.
- Collaborates with Architects, Mechanical Engineers, Civil Engineers, Structural Engineers, Project Managers, Clients, and others.
- Interfaces with Code Officials, Utility Companies, Contractors, and others.
- Works alongside Project Managers as they perform their tasks and participates in budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
- Generates Scope of Work, Request for Proposal, and Request for Information documents.
- Reviews engineered drawings.
- Reviews equipment and work quotes.
Qualifications

- A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- Current Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or pursuit of EIT.
- Ability to travel to distant construction sites, which may include extended stays. * Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
- Knowledge of best practices, statutes, and codes pertaining to installation and operation of manufacturing and processing systems.
- Ability to read and understand engineered drawings and other construction documents.
- Demonstrated competence in Autocad, REVIT and MS Office.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience helping to maintain successful client relationships.
Compensation and Benefits
Fisher Construction Group provides a highly-competitive wage and benefits package. Depending on experience, employment offers will range between $70,000 to $94,021 annually, with a potential annual performance bonus up to $12,000.00
