Wage Range

     $22/hr to $36/hr depending on skills, experience, and willingness to travel

Job Summary

  • Works as part of a crew to install thermal interior and exterior panels on cold storage and processing facilities and warehouses. Thermal technicians are classified in three levels according to skills and experience.

Essential Functions

  • Load and unload equipment.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding and staging.
  • Level ground for scaffolding.
  • Prepare tools and materials.
  • Bolts, nails, or aligns materials.
  • Measure and cut panels to size for installation.
  • Lift, unload, move, materials at job site.
  • Drill through metal track and concrete to anchor track.
  • Assist in setting 30-60′ panels by directing crane (Octopus) operator.
  • Operate forklift to move panels and equipment/supplies around job site.
  • Perform general cleanup and clearing debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and unloading.
  • Touch up damaged panels with paint.
  • Work is performed with other workers as a team.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Peripheral Functions

  • Runs errands to collect equipment and supplies.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Has a positive attitude, initiative and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to maintain a good attendance record.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools commonly employed on construction sites.
  • Ability to operate equipment and machinery commonly employed on construction sites.
  • Knowledge of the construction techniques used to build commercial and industrial buildings.
  • Knowledge of the safety requirements for a construction site.

Experience

  • Experience in the construction industry in a hands-on capacity.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing are all required on a constant basis. Lifting of objects up to 20 pounds is frequent, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. There is frequent pushing, pulling and dragging of objects.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions. Workers are exposed to dust and dirt common to construction sites.
