Blending Function, Materials & Aesthetics

Large enough to house more than 8 football fields under its roof, the Carlisle Construction Materials facility is one of Fisher’s largest projects built on a single footprint. Located in the Randles Business Park south of Seattle, the facility produces Hunter Panels, an energy efficient insulated foam roofing material.

A diversified global company, Carlisle develops and manufactures materials for construction, transportation, food services and aerospace.

The 400,000 sq. ft. tilt-up building has 35 ft tall insulated sandwich panel walls which were poured, set and cured, and then lifted into place and tied into the roof structure. Constructed with as many of Carlisle building products as possible, the building includes the company’s EPDM roofing and EPS Foam for wall insulation.

Designed by Fisher’s architectural division, the 9-month construction project included the installation of a mile long rail spur for transporting product. All of the building’s stormwater runoff is retained and filtered before releasing it back into the groundwater system eliminating the pollutants common to stormwater runoff.

Pete Franzosa, director of plant engineering for Pennsylvania-based Carlisle, said Carlisle talked to seven groups before selecting Fisher. He called Fisher Construction Group “the most aggressive, full-service group we happened on.”

The seventh manufacturing facility in the company’s division, this facility will produce product to meet commercial and residential market needs of the Pacific Northwest including neighboring Canadian provinces.
