Fast-Track Process Meets Customer Needs

Without Sacrificing Complex Systems Required for Production

Looking to produce a new line of private yachts, luxury boat builder Westport Shipyards was in a bit of a hurry. The company’s shipyards in Hoquiam, Westport and Port Angeles, Washington, were not large enough to build the 164 ft. line of composite motor yachts.

Fisher built the company’s Westport, Washington facility, so it was natural for the yacht manufacturer to turn to them again for design and construction. Fisher’s team designed and built the project quickly, making it possible for Westport to begin building yachts six and a half months later.

Fisher Construction Group provided complete pre-con services, working with Westport Yachts to select the best location and optimum site layout for the new facility. Fisher’s design team developed the drawings through final design and helped get the facility permitted on a fast-track.

At over 70 feet tall, the new yacht manufacturing is just over 100,000 sq. ft. and includes separate lamination, painting and assembly bays, each equipped with ventilation and dust control systems. Supported by multiple bridge cranes, the huge yachts are moved through the manufacturing facility with ease. The facility established a new standard for boat manufacturing, and kept Westport Marine at the top of the pack in delivering high-end yachts to market.
