Relationships That Last to The Next Generation

We Deliver Cold Chain Efficiencies Faster than Ever

At Fisher, we take our relationships with our customers as seriously as the buildings we build for them. Fisher’s relationship with Arctic Cold is an example of this is. The relationship can be traced back nearly 50 years. Fisher was a young company working with the founder of Arctic Cold’s father.

Arctic cold’s owner, a critical partner in the growth and later acquisition of the original cold storage company, called on fisher’s design-build team again. This newest business venture, a facility that would meet the needs of fruit processors as well as storage.

The new roughly 570,000 SF facility has the capabilities to process up to 50,000 crates of lemons and package fruit. The building features 16 chill rooms and 186,000 SF racked freezer storage. Allowing storage for various products in either the variable temperatures before distribution. The facility is a steel-frame construction with IMP walls offering unmatched energy efficiencies as well as benefits for food safety.

By offering fruit cooler storage, freezer storage, and freezer blast freezing, Arctic Cold will meet the needs of growers in the rich agriculture areas north of Oxnard. The attached canopy of 31,000 sf is designed to protect as they are unloaded fresh from the fields and orchards. Offering multi-modal transfer, the facility will have 24 truck loading docks. Fisher is installing a private rail spur that will deliver access to four rail dock doors, making it possible to load/unload four train cars at a time.
