Developing a Concrete Jungle

Paving the Way for 3rd Party Logistics Trucking Facility, Crown Enterprises, LLC

Crown Enterprises, a commercial real estate company, owns and develops projects for their clients to lease across the United States. Their projects consist predominantly in the logistics and trucking industry. When their clients brought them to the northwest, they turned to Fisher Construction to partner with for not one but two projects: Post Falls, Idaho and Billings, Montana. Both to be built on almost parallel schedules.

With the purchase of a former café located between two easy access points just off I–90, they couldn’t have selected a better location for trucks to pull off the freeway, and get back on the road from.

After extensive site grading and the addition of retention ponds and retaining walls, what was once a field became 260,000 square feet of 6” thick concrete paving. Providing ample space for semi-trucks to maneuver to the 31 dock positions and/or refueling.

Of the 23,000 square foot structure, the building featured a 19,000 square cross-dock. The remaining 3,200 square foot dedicated to office and employee areas. The site also included the construction of an 9,500 square foot shop with 9 shop bays. With so many trucks coming and going, the project also included the addition of 30,000GAL diesel fueling tank and 4,000GAL DEF tank.
