Delivers Cold Chain Efficiencies Faster then Ever

United States Cold Storage (USCS) is experienced in managing over 288 million cubic feet of temperature-controlled warehouse space. For that reason, you could say United States Cold Storage knows a thing or two about temperature-controlled environments. So does Fisher Construction Group.

The decision to contract Fisher Construction Group to build Turlock North, USCS’s new 9.3 million cubic foot warehouse, was based on both Fisher’s experience and their value-engineered approach to constructing the facility in less than 300 days.

Fisher’s team broke ground on the project in late November. The facility was ready to store product for Blue Diamond growers ten months later.

What may have seemed impossible was not when Fisher applied its brand of design | build expertise and use of innovative solutions for temperature-controlled environments. Fisher’s design and construction team worked closely with USCS’s operations and engineering to implement the highly innovative Carnot refrigeration system. Just the second system of its type used in the US.

Loaded with operational and environmental advantages, installing the Carnot system cut weeks out of the construction schedule. The two roof-mounted units deliver the energy-efficient CO2 refrigeration with the added flexibility change the storage temperature to anywhere between -10° F to +55° F.

Fisher added to the construction efficiency by self-performing the thermal panel installation. Therefore saving time and assuring quality. These are some of the solutions in Fisher’s toolbox which made it possible to meet the aggressive schedule. Delivering Turlock North to a highly satisfied United States Cold Storage team, on time and on budget.
