We’re seeking a licensed Structural Engineer (PE) who enjoys working in a fast-paced design-build environment and wants to see their designs come to life in the field. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys collaborating directly with construction teams, traveling to project sites, solving real-world challenges, and making engineering decisions that keep projects moving.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Design structural systems for industrial, food processing, cold storage, manufacturing, and commercial facilities.
- Prepare structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and engineering reports.
- Collaborate closely with architects, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, project managers, and field superintendents throughout all phases of design and construction.
- Visit active construction sites to evaluate existing conditions, investigate structural issues, and develop practical engineering solutions.
- Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and field modifications.
- Provide engineering support during construction to help resolve unforeseen field conditions quickly and efficiently.
- Perform structural assessments of existing buildings for renovations, expansions, and equipment installations.
- Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and project specifications.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, constructability, and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 5–10 years of structural engineering experience.
- Experience designing steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures.
- Experience with industrial, manufacturing, food processing, cold storage, distribution, or similar facilities is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of the International Building Code (IBC), ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, and related design standards.
- Proficiency with structural analysis and design software.
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM coordination is preferred.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
Fisher Construction Group provides a highly-competitive wage and benefits package. Depending on experience, employment offers will range between $116,778 to $140,229 annually, with a potential annual performance bonus up to $12,000.00.
