RESTORATION OF TWENTY-YEAR OLD PRE-TREATMENT PLANT

Solving Today’s Stringent Pre-Waste Treatment Requirements

Fisher and Pharmer Engineers teamed up to modify and recommission an idle waste water pre-treatment facility. The original system was built to handle the processing effluent created by a berry processor that vacated the site twenty years ago. The major issues were reduction in BOD and TSS, and to not interrupt Lineage Logistics current tenant processor’s production during the upgrades.

Bringing the pre-treatment facility back on line after sitting idle was not easy, but doing so provided a solution to the needs of Lineage Logistics’ current squid and berry processors. The project coordination and permitting was handled by Fisher Construction Group. Pharmer Engineering, a long time partner with Fisher in these types of projects, handled the effluent characterization and engineering design services.

To connect a new processor to the pre-treatment system, Fisher installed over 1300 LF of 8” gravity and pressurized pipe. System improvements included pre-screening to remove large particulates and tank aeration.

Once complete, the team trained on-site personnel on how to control and maintain their upgraded wastewater system to stay in compliance with local water authority. The team even went so far as to set-up billing cycle for the client so they would be able to profitably and equitably invoice their various tenants.
